Stoyan Nokov

Стоян НоковTeacher, socialist, Stoyan Nokov is the first Bulgarian with whom Friedrich Engels meets and co-ordinates. After completing a natural history in Geneva, Nokov was appointed a teacher at Kotel School. He conducts his lessons in the open, in the form of outings, and for the purpose of collecting plants, minerals and other.

Because of his socialist ideas, he was fired and his students sent a letter to the Minister of Enlightenment for his return. Stoyan Nokov participates actively in the cultural and social-political life of Kotel, writes articles on the problems of the town and the prominent Kotel revivals.
